Refund and Cancellation Policy

How to cancel a paid plan, and when a payment can be refunded.

Effective and last updated: 6 October 2026

PrivacyTermsRefunds

1. Merchant of Record

Dodo Payments is the Merchant of Record for paid OpenCricketAPI plans. It processes charges, invoices, sales taxes, refunds and chargebacks. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method and can take a few days to appear, depending on your bank and the card network.

2. Cancelling a plan

Open your dashboard and choose Manage billing to change or cancel your plan. Cancelling stops future renewals. It does not end the month you already paid for: your plan keeps working until that period ends, and your dashboard shows the date. After that date, your account moves to the free Starter plan and your API keys keep working within Starter limits. Cancelling does not by itself refund an earlier charge.

To avoid another charge, cancel before the next renewal date. Stopping API use or deleting an integration does not cancel a plan.

3. When a refund is available

We review every request fairly and in line with the law. A refund is usually appropriate when:

  • you were charged more than once for the same purchase;
  • the amount or plan charged differs from what you ordered;
  • your paid plan was not applied to your account and we cannot fix it within a reasonable time;
  • a serious technical fault on our side stops you from using the paid plan and we cannot fix it within a reasonable time; or
  • consumer law gives you a right to a refund or to withdraw.

4. When a refund is usually not available

Subject to your legal rights, a refund is usually not available for a change of mind after meaningful API or MCP use, for quota you used up or partly used, for problems caused by your own keys or integration, for coverage limits shown before you bought, or for a suspension caused by a breach of the Terms of Service.

When we refund a subscription payment, the paid plan ends when the refund is processed, not at the end of the period it covered, and the account moves to Starter.

5. How to ask for a refund

Email opencricket@proton.me from the address on your account. Include the invoice or transaction reference, the purchase date, the plan and a short explanation. Never send card details. We or Dodo Payments may ask for reasonable evidence to look into the payment.

We check our service records and reply as soon as we reasonably can. As Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments may make or process the final decision. Contacting us first usually solves billing or technical problems faster than a chargeback.

6. Legal rights and changes

This policy does not limit rights that consumer law does not allow us to remove. We may update it for future purchases; the date at the top shows the current version.
